Hey Mitch D, LG WRman Greg here,

You can try repair the broken HDMI port on your own but it is quite complicated and if you're not comfortable handing tiny connections, it would not be recommended. Here's a detailed instruction on how to fiddle with the HDMI port on the TV to fix it: http://www.ehow.com/how_12179795_repair-broken-hdmi-ports-tv.html Again, this is extremely delicate work and there's no guarantee that you will be able to find the broken connection to fix it so if you are not confident, don't attempt this as it could cause further problem to the TV.

The best solution in this case is to contact the TV manufacturer. If you still have warranty on the TV, it will be fixed easily. If the warranty's expired, you can still ask for recommendations and consultation as well as suggestions for a good TV repair service specialized in fixing the TV model that you have. If you have an LG TV by any chance, you can visit the official website to contact a local repair provider http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/find-repair-provider or call the LG Customer Support for help at: 800-243-0000.

There are many wire connection involved in an HDMI cable, they might be very small wires. You might try using the other type of connection on your tv, like the component and optical ports. Technician can repair that for you, but it will cost you around $150, labor cost is very high. Call or email the tv manufacturer and see if there is a close repair shop in your area that service that brand. Hope this will help you out.

You can try bending it back if there is sever damage, but I think its best just to take it somewhere to get it repaired. They work with the stuff every day and have a better idea of what to do and more tools to do a better repair then you do.

it wont help fixing it by your self, if only the metal casing (the outer rim) is broke and not the plastic bit (the thing that sticks out in the middle) you can just get a pair of pliers and carefully squeeze them together until the port looks slightly normal, and a wire can fit in it without falling down.
