why do 32 inch televisions only measure 30 inch diag across the screen?

ive got 2 32 inch tellys both measure around 30 inch diag across the screen so why atre they advertised as 32 inch

because tvs are 32" class not 32". which means their measurements are closest to 32". there are a standard amount of tvs dimensions like 27, 32, 36, 40 etc. and all it has to do is be closest to that dimension to be able to be labeled as such

U sure??....get a tape measure that works probably?...ahhaa...or the box was wrong.....na i dunno....from corner to corner it shud do..

You have to allow for evaporation in transit.

Because tv's are measured corner to corner.
