So I have two options: If I buy computer, im not going to get TV. If I get a TV, im not going to get PC. What should I buy first? (My opinion: I think i will buy PC first. Since there are many new TV coming out, I could just buy computer and there will be new TVs comeing out anyways.)

I would buy a computer first because there are things you can do on the computer that you can't do on a TV. Plus, there's a way to get TV on your computer. So then you can have the best of both worlds. Unfortunately I don't know much about it. But there is a way.

Buy a computer first.

Key points:

You can use your computer as a TV. Just add a TV tuner card or USB tuner. Analog tuners are dirt cheap these days because they will be obsolete after 2/09. Since people are upgrading to digital tuners, you might even scrounge for a free used one.

If it's a new computer you can also use it to record TV shows.

If you have high speed Internet you can watch many TV channels for free on the web (see links below). If you are learning a foreign language you can watch TV programs in that language.

And last, you can buy a like new used 19" tube TV for $20 or so. If you want to use it with an antenna after 2/09 you need to spend $10- $20 (plus a government coupon) for a digital converter box. With all the people dumping them for flat screen TVs, you might be able to scrounge one for free.

My advise is to buy a new Media Center PC.

A Media Center PC has a built in TV tuner card and DVR capabilities (so you could record TV shows/movies onto your hard drive).

If you have Antenna/Cable TV - you just hook up the coax cable to the input to any Media Center PC and you have everything you want - just like hooking it up to your regular TV.

However (!) Satellite TV (Dish, DirectTV, Vios, etc...) needs special software/box to help the TV tuner card "read" the incoming signal.

Anyone with experience knows that you could hook up an Antenna/Cable directly to your TV and get signal, no problem - but you can't hook a satellite directly to a TV without having a box/decoding software to be able to view channels on a basic TV and the same is the case for a Media Center PC as they have the same type of input signal chip.

The Media Center PC is definitely the best bang for your buck, in my opinion.

Check out these sites to watch streaming TV shows (that don't have to downloaded to your hard drive)

there are SOOO many sites that offer TV viewing. Google search and you'll find hundreds of others!

But (!) *Winks* LOL - Here's a link that will let you watch new movies that are in the theaters (right now) on you PC. For free! :D

I hope this info helps. Good luck on your purchase! :D

i bought an HP pc in 1998. Its successors have all been hand-me-downs from artwork that did no longer fee me a dime. i've got on no account bought a television. I actually have a 35 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old Zenith that I inherited from my dad and mom, and yet another television that somebody gave me because of the fact they have been going to throw it away. the two considered one of them artwork completely superb. My cellular telephone is from the employer I artwork for. My CD participant became a freebie from workplace Depot (in spite of if it sucks, and that i could wreck down and purchase a good one after Christmas). i've got on no account gotten an ipod or a blackberry or any of that style of factor, and that i don't experience disadvantaged interior the least. I DID purchase a pair of DVD gamers interior the previous few years, so i will't say i've got not bought something this millenium. Rats!

Buy a computer with a TV tuner card. The computer would be more productive and could double as a TV when you are not computing.
