Question:
Should I buy a TV with built-in blu ray player?
?

I was thinking about buying myself a new TV and I was considering buying one with a built in blu ray player. What difference does have a blu ray player actually make (compared to a normal TV/DVD player)? Does the blu ray player enhance any of the old DVDs or does it just play them the same way a normal DVD player would?

Here's a link to the TV I found:

No you shouldn't.

The biggest problem with "combo" units is that if either the tv or the DVD/Blu-ray pack up then you're left with an expensive piece of stuff that is only half usable. These sort of units have a bad history for being unreliable, even "reputable" brands like a "Tosh". This is why the major brands don't bother with them.

Get a decent television set and a separate Blu-ray player (they cost less than £90 now). If the player conks out then you will still have a good television set, and you can buy a cheap DVD player for about £20 that will let you watch some of your collection until you replace the Blu-ray.

a tv with built in blu ray player would be pretty sweet. but you can also buy a blu ray player separate with the tv if you wanted to. that doesn't matter. and yes, it does enhance the quality of your regular dvd picture by quite a bit. trust me the blu ray quality is the most beautiful picture you will ever see I can promise you that. I hope this helps.

you would be cheaper buying a 32in tv and a separate blu-ray player, (ps3,) tv's with built in dvd players etc etc usually are NOT that good or reliable

Not if you want something that will be reliable, no.
