Hello, you can use a V/CVBS input with RCA(a white yellow and red input) but you need each chord, yellow, white, and red chord by placing the yellow chord into the V/CVBS output (generally use green) , PBL for left, place the white chord into the output(typically the blue output), and finally PBR for right, place the red input into always the red output ( With very little exceptions, red will always stand for RIGHT in almost every stem of input and output and will match ) . Thank you for reading this , TOODLES GOODBYE ADÍOS choose one and put it in any response you may have to this response

Insignia Products manufactures an RF Modulator which enables a VHS (in playback mode) and a DVD player to be simultaneously connected to a TV without using a YPbPr cable. The first set of Red, Yellow, White cables (from DVD for example) are connected to the corresponding input ports of the TV as normal. The Red, Yellow, White cables from the VCR are then connected to the RF Modulator. The antenna coax cable is disconnected from the TV and connected to one of two coax terminals on the RF Modulator. A second coax cable is then run from the Modulator to the antenna terminal on the TV. A slide switch on the Modulator allows you to move to channel 3 (for VHS viewing) or to channel 4 for television or DVD watching. Price at Best Buy is $29.99. An additional coax cable for the Modulator/TV connection is required. See insigniaproducts.com for further info.

RE:

Can I use RCA (white, yellow, red) output to a YPbPr input?

I have a DVD and a VHS that use RCA cables. (Yes, I know...it's old)

I'm about to buy an HDTV and has 2 HDMI and 1 composite video (YPbPr) input and I wanted to make sure my traditional RCA cables could work into the HDTV's composite video input.

If not, what kind of adapter or cable...

I have a new Samsung 60" HD with all the , samrt Hub, Netflix , ETC.... I have a Bose 3.2.1 System that has only composit (yellow) on my TV the signal goes to the Green Component, and it worked perfectly... My TV was bought in December 2014, and I made the connection July 2015. The info,id got it from the " E- Manual" in the Tv settings Menu.

First off, if you have older DVD players they will NOT work with the newer HDTV's so buy a newer DVD player, they are not that expensive and most are equivalent to the name brands. However, if you do have a DVD player with both Video/audio outputs plus PbPr you can use the YPbPr cable.. Just mind the connections..

First, the YPbPr (red-green-blue) is a component input, not composite. Composite is yellow-red-white.

The two are not compatible and cannot be substituted. With component, all 3 colors comprise the video signal and none of it is audio. With composite, the yellow connection is for video and red+white are stereo audio.

But you can still use the RF output of the unit with your new TV. Connect the coaxial RF out jack (like an antenna jack) to the TV's antenna jack and put the TV on channel 3 or 4. Video and audio from the DVD/VCR will be on one or the other.

---------------

Followup: I also thought of a composite to component converter but didn't bother. As suggested above, it only deals with video, and it would cost you anywhere from about $30 to hundreds. The RF option is totally free if you have a short antenna cable with fittings on both ends. If not, a dollar or two in the electrical department of a hardware store.

Also, are you SURE your new TV does not have a composite input? Not impossible, but a bit unusual. Good luck.

Can I use RCA (white, yellow, red) output to a YPbPr input? No

YPbPr is component, NOT composite.

That said your dvd player will work on the composite (yellow red white) inputs on your new TV, but it will look pretty grainy.

Ignore Khalil's answer. he doesn't know what he is talking about.

The answer is MAYBE... Some models of TV sets have the converter unit built-in

Samsung is one. The Blue of the RGB component input is the video input of the composite Yellow.

The blue input has a yellow circle around it and you can use either if you don't put anything in the green or red input.

Try the Blue input for the yellow wire.
